How to
Use Baskets
to Organize
Your Home
|
|
A toilet tank top basket holds extra
tissue rolls. Or use it to hold cans of shaving cream, hair mousse and
more. This basket is dyed rope and rattan with a wood rim.
|
|
This half melon shaped basket is made
of multi-colored dyed rope. Clearly it's perfect for holding a stack of
DVD's, CDs or video tapes. That keeps the movies handy for watching, yet
not in the way if you want to vacuum the floor or use the cocktail table
for holding drinks.
|
|
Fill a small, shallow rectangular
basket with your most treasured letters and cards. Keep it nearby on a
shelf or end table for sentimental or inspirational reading.
|
|
Assign family members their own
basket for emptying their pockets into each night. This tightly woven
African bowl is ideal since its fine weave ensures nothing will fall out
the bottom or sides.
|
|
A small sewing basket is big enough to
hold spare buttons, thread and needles as well as a mini sewing machine
for those quick repair jobs. This one has a handle which makes it easier
to carry to your work space. Notice the pin cushion interior lid.

A medium size decorative magazine
basket on the floor is perfect to hold extra rolled up bath towels. Stack
them inside vertically to make a beautiful display for guests. Toss in a
bottle of bubble bath or other decorative but useful toiletry item to jazz
it up some more. |
|
Every desk needs a tray, whether it's
to hold incoming mail or paper that you're recycling. This one is 8 1/2
inch X 12 inch with a rectangular shaped green mesh wire design. It has
decoratively woven light brown strips of rattan on its rims and two side
handles.

Like all baskets, rag bowls are both
beautiful and functional. Because they're made of fabric, they're soft and
perfect for cushioning jewelry or holding hosiery. This multi-colored
round rag bowl has a bit of pink, blue and other colors which blend nicely
with the blue carpet it's setting on. |

Apples in a bamboo basket with wood
scoop top handle brighten the kitchen. And it's a practical holding spot
(6 lbs. of apples fit in this one.) The only problem is they almost look
too good to eat!
